We are Calvary Lutheran Church and
Part of the Kindred Lutheran Parish
We follow Jesus Christ by welcoming everyone, growing in faith, serving God and others, and walking with God's people.
Rooted in love, worship, education, and service, we work to do God's work in our congregation, our community, and our world.
Here at Calvary we were so fortunate to find a new Vicar. Vicar Jennifer Sosinski has been leading our worship services since Sunday, December 6, 2020. Safety protocols are followed within our church. During this Covid-19 Pandemic we have also been taping and live streaming our worship services and these services can be viewed (via Facebook).
Everyone is always invited and welcome!
We have a great Christian Education program for our youth which is called Calvary's Kids. This program is for Kindergarten through 6th grade and they meet from 5:30 - 6:30 on Wednesdays from Mid-September through May. All children are welcome!
In the summer we have a week of Vacation Bible School for grades 4K-5th which we hold in conjunction with the Antigo United Methodist Church. This summer's program is called "Monumental - Celebrating God's Greatness!" and will be held at Calvary from Sunday, August 14th - Wednesday, August 17th from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Come and join us in an adventurous and fun time!
We have Confirmation classes on Wednesday evenings for seventh and eight graders at 6:30 from Mid-September through May.
Friendship Circle is also a great way to meet the women of Calvary and they meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. They enjoy a short Bible Study and fellowship time together. Friendship Circle are currently using the Gather Magazine Bible Study for this year.
Glen Gildemeister has his Bible Study on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 9:30 which is held in Calvary's Fellowship Hall. The 9:30 time-frame works whether worship is held at 8:30 or 10:30. Everyone is invited to join Glen for his very informative study! Thanks Glen!
Called To Serve 2 Timothy 4:2
Hello! My name is Vicar Jennifer Sosinski. I recently answered my call and have been accepted to the TEEM program through Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.( A vicar is a Pastor in training.) I began December of 2020. Ministering at St John's in Birnamwood and Calvary in Antigo, I count it a great blessing to serve at the newly formed Kindred Lutheran Parish at both churches. I have been active in short term missions, hospital visitation, youth, teen and community outreach, music ministry, youth group, Homme home juvenile center in Wittenberg volunteer chaplaincy, church planting, prison ministry and more over the past 25 years. The TEEM program allowed me to joyfully serve in ministry full time while pursuing my ordination. I have three children, 2 grands and 4 bonus children with my husband Chris. We live on his family's farm, which feels very familiar as I grew up on a small dairy farm in southern Wisconsin the oldest of 5 kids. Sharing God's love through the preaching of His Word, walking beside members through life's joys and hardships and reaching into the community with the message of Christ's hope is at the center of my call. Loving God and loving people; Christ told us are the greatest commands. I am so very glad to be here!
Our Beautiful Iron Cross
Long-time member, Richard Tews commissioned a blacksmith to make this beautiful iron cross for Calvary. The three twists in the iron represent our Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Richard also donates and cares for the beautiful flowers at Calvary. Thanks for all you do Richard!
